Love is all around ~

No need to waste it, you can have the town why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all!

God love Mary Tyler Moore. Great show, great woman, great song. What a trip. Had an amazing weekend, we had two days off together and finally got to settle in a little bit. First we took a drive to Pensacola, and did some shopping. A little retail therapy never hurt anyone. :-) It's been a long time since I lived near a NY and Co and had reason to frequent it. AMAZing pants, can I just say? The fact they run a size too big doesn't hurt either! Adam's a huge fan and dragged me in, love him. I stocked up, updated some staples I already had. Always open to business professional dressing tips! We love Ross too.

Speaking of Ross. Between there and WalMart we've dressed all the windows in the house, and most of the other decor needs as well. Barstools, bath rugs, etc. What fun! So the couple days off really gave us a chance to get settled. Of course we also had time to get a GRILL (apparently the essential man accessory to a house) which I don't oppose at all considering I came home tonight to a grilled sirloin steak dinner! And making sure we take a little time each day off to do something fun is keeping things in perspective. Whether it's drinks on the harbour or oysters on the beach, we make sure we get out and enjoy our surroundings as well. And they are lush! Only major purchase left is a new mattress for the guest bed and we're set. So when are YOU coming to visit?

Work update: Training is set for March 14 - April 8 in Kenner, LA (essentially New Orleans). Will be in Houston for Adam's award's banquet March 25-27 so we're excited to have a mini-vacation and see some friends as well.

Ciao for now,
MC

Walkin' on sunshine ~

~ And don't it feel good!

Wow. What a crazy couple of weeks. I've been MIA for two weeks to pretty much everyone in my life with this move. And it's been an incredible couple of weeks. You'll get more details soon but the basics are as follows:

Moved to Destin Sunday, Feb 7. After a few stops, got to Adam's apartment in the evening, to unload the basics and get some sleep. Monday AM - Movers show up, pick up Adam's big furniture and boxes and move into the rental house (where we dropped most of my stuff the night before). Adam goes to work, and I supervise mover unload and getting settled. He works Tuesday, I unpack. I start work Wednesday. And then work until the following Tuesday. Yep, like two days ago Tuesday.

Work is amazing. I feel like I'm picking up really quickly, which is nice. The systems are difficult to get used to but I think that's the case in any job. Big learning curve with the devices for sure, lots of phones to learn. But I love talking to people, getting to know people that will return if you give them good service; people buy from people they like. My boss is great and I work with fun people.

And we live a half-mile from the beach!! Can I just say - the water here is so clear and blue, it's incredible. And the sand is like white sugar. We have found some incredible places to eat and grab drinks, literally ON the beach! It's definitely more commercial than Hilton Head, but still gorgeous. And has some of the great features of Dallas - restaurants, shopping, etc. A great combination. Our house is fantastic, although we're still getting settled. Sperry loves it - her favorite features are the fireplace and the windows. She prefers the blinds raised 18" in all windows so she can see out. :-)

So many apologizes for failing to return any phone calls, emails, etc that I've missed. We've been busy... walkin on sunshine... When are you coming?

Ciao for now,
MC

It's time to trust my instincts ~

~ Close my eyes and leap! It's time to try defying gravity!

It's getting to be about that time. 5 sleeps until MOVING DAY! We're hoping to pull out of Hilton Head mid-morning Sunday. Adam lands Friday evening in Savannah and is going to help me pack up Saturday. Thank goodness, I don't know how I'd ever do it all by myself! If you know me, you know since my car accident in April I don't handle stress nearly as well. It's something I'm working on and improving all the time, but Adam is definitely my rock and my calm in the storm. Looking forward to all that this new opportunity in Destin has to offer!

Adam looked at houses today, and by the end of the day he'd signed a lease! Faster than we'd expected, we were going to take our time finding the right house but a great house came on the market smack in Destin, and it was perfect!! 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, brand new stainless steel appliances, gas fireplace, brand new washer/dryer... And a great price. So we're pretty psyched to have a great place to live and a neighborhood to meet new friends. I'm excited about cooking in a practically all-new kitchen!! And I know Adam's excited about eating in it. :-) We're also thrilled to have a place for friends to come and visit from out of town.

And we're starting P90X when we get settled. SO EXCITED! I've lost 10 lbs in the past 9 weeks (remember, it's not crazy to start your diet on Thanksgiving week, it's SMART - I would have gained 10 lbs by now if I hadn't) but I'm excited about amping it up and really starting to shred and tone! I love the system I've been using so far, and if you haven't found something that works for you, you really need to talk to my girlfriend Jodi. Let me know if you're interested and I'll give her your number. She and her husband Rob are changing lives, y'all! I have awesome energy and I'm changing my relationship with food... more on that later but for now I'll leave you with this - food is fuel. It's not an emotional escape, it's not therapy, it's not a friend. It's fuel for your enjoyment.

Lots of new and exciting changes coming. God is opening windows all over the place!!

Much love
~MC
